Abstract:
The pandemic has shown itself to be a more complex phenomenon than many had expected. To address it, there is a need to go beyond health and the Health Belief Model. H1V research and mitigation strategies have to be more sophisticated and must cut across the narrowly defined disciplinary boundaries, As we move forward, the need to consult widely and to enlist the support and under- standing of those who live with the pandemic cannot be overemphasized. It is in this unified understanding of the pandemic that research can shed more light on the theoretical and policy challenges posed by HIV/AIDS
