Abstract:
Over the last decade, Sub-Saharan African countries have embarked on agricultural sector reforms, resulting in changing roles for the public and private sectors. Farmers' organisations (FOs) are now actively involved in agricultural policy-making and implementation, and increasingly voice the needs of their members in various fora on policy-making, market access and service provision. This bulletin analyses the role played by farmers? organisations in agricultural innovation and investigates the constraints preventing them from fully playing their role.
